In a recent post I announced that I was accepted to Central Christian College of the Bible. For more information on that please visit
. I have one course completed and received and A in the course! YAY! I must mention when I was in grade school through high school my grades where not bad but they where not A’s so to receive this kind of grade to start off this journey is AWESOME!!! I also finished the course ahead of schedule! YAY! In my Christian Discipleship course after turning in the first unit and 1/2 of assignments I am holding steady with a 96%.
Now for those that wonder if online classes are easier then going to college and taking the courses let me give you an example of the work in one of my classes. I take 2 courses each sub-term, this is what is considered a full time student. All the work is broke down into units, example Unit 1 is worked on for 9 days. From here I will explain the amount of work that is to be done in that time frame. We read 5 chapters in our books, we must post two, 200 words no less post to a forum answering questions about the chapters, we must in addition to this answer two other students post with 100 words no less, we must turn in a personal journal entry that is 3-5 pages long in 12 point font, and finally an assessment reflection on the weeks studies that is 500-700 words.
This is the amount of work in one course! This does not include chapel reports, christian service reports or the work from my other course. So in conclusion is online courses easier then attending college in the classroom? I am going to have to say NO WAY! Online students work just as hard. I have to admit when I enrolled I did know that I would be working hard but I did not imagine that it would be this intense! With that being said I am LOVING every minute of it!!! I can not put the books down and writing is one of my favorite things to do! I couldn’t have picked a better set of courses to study and even though there is a lot of work the knowledge I am gaining is AMAZING!
I have to say I find it so strange that when I was younger I tried every excuse to get out of doing my homework, now I can’t wait to sneak in a minute to read a chapter or write a little. If you have ever thought about attending college and are holding back because of a fear of the way it used to be for you in school, don’t hold back!!!! If you want it go for it, college either online or on campus is an amazing experience and no one is to old to gain more knowledge!
